Shish - A Mediterranean Grill and Cafe
Type: Hookah Restaurant
Price: $$ ($9-$15)
Hours: Daily: 7 a.m.- 11 p.m.
Shish Café, with a low-key, casual laidback environment, is best known for its gyros. Among its popular Middle Eastern dishes are the Shish Maza Mix, an appetizer platter of hummus, babaganoush, falafel, feta cheese, tabouli couscous, tomatoes and olives and their lamb and beef kebabs. The bread is made by a local Lebanese bakery. Everything is fresh, organic, and made-to-order. Shish has a full coffee bar and carries authentic Turkish tea. Outside in the warmer months, Shish offers eight flavors of shisha you can enjoy with a post-meal hookah. A big portion of the restaurant's business comes from take-out orders and catering.
User Reviews
Ate there thought it was good. 2 weeks later I was stopped by the owner entering another restruant on the block. His comment of "why are you supporting the Jews disturbed me so much will never enter that restruant again.. I I've heard that comment also repeated from someone else at Macalester College boycot .... It's not worth it.
Food is encredible!! Be sure and ask for the garlic spread on the side. We've never had anything like it. It gets crowed sometimes so you might have to be patient with service but we've found it's worth it. My kids love to go there.
